My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a family practice physician which means I provide continuing, comprehensive health care for the individual and family. I chose family practice because I want to build long lasting relationships with patients while providing comprehensive medical and preventative care. I find family practice exciting in that I can provide definitive care to patients with any undiagnosed sign, symptom, or health concern at the point of first contact and then take continuing responsibility for providing the patient's care.

My Practice Philosophy

In my practice, I strive to do the very best, everyday. My goal is to treat you as if you were a friend or family member. I will attempt to take the time to listen to you since this is the key to any patient-physician relationship. Furthermore, I encourage all my patients to embrace healthy lifestyles including eating healthy foods and adopting an exercise program. While I feel that evidence-based-medicine provides optimal care, I am very open to any alternative therapies you may wish to pursue.

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

Upon completion of my residency training, it seemed natural to pursue a career with Kaiser Permanente. I have the freedom to practice medicine the way I want. At its core, Kaiser Permanente strives to prevent illness and promote healthy lifestyles. We employ evidence-based medicine, which integrates clinical expertise with the best available clinical evidence from systematic research.

On a Personal Note

I was born in beautiful Placerville, CA, not far from here. I graduated from California State University, Sacramento where I studied biology and chemistry. I then entered Western University of Health Science’s Osteopathic Medicine program in 2000. During residency, I married my beautiful wife, whom has always been very supportive with every step of my medical career. Since we are both from the Sacramento area, naturally we wanted to return to our roots. We enjoy outdoor activities, traveling and spending time with family and friends. I personally take interest in gardening, golfing and fishing. I am passionate about saltwater aquariums and some would say that I’m an enthusiast!

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
