Hello, thank you for visiting my homepage. Should the need arise, I look forward to providing anesthesia for you or your loved one. I take pride in my profession and the opportunity to provide safe and effective anesthetics appropriate for my patient's personal needs and surgical requirements. My goal is to make you informed and comfortable throughout your surgery experience. My colleagues and I are fortunate to practice in this hospital system. We enjoy collegial working conditions with all members of the surgical team and referral capabilities, if necessary. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment gives us the best opportunity to provide excellent care.

My interests in anesthetic practice are diverse and I am a member of the regional anesthesia team within the department. I also serve as liaison to the orthopedic service as a member of the 'Highly Reliable Surgical Team.'

If you or your family member is scheduled for surgery requiring anesthesia, please click on the useful "links" to the left of this screen. There you will find helpful information to further answer questions you may have.

About me: I am a native of southern Wisconsin, completing my Bachelor's degree in Nursing at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1995 before practicing as an operating room and cardiothoracic/transplant intensive care RN at Univ. of Wisconsin Hospital for 4 years. I completed my Master's degree and anesthesia residency training at Rush University in Chicago in 2001. I worked in a 300-bed community hospital in Munster, Indiana before moving to the bay area in December, 2004. I've practiced full-time at Kaiser Permanente-Santa Clara ever since.

In my free time I am fortunate to be very active and I strive for a well-balanced, healthy lifestyle that includes mountain biking, skiing, working out, surfing, and adventurous world travel.

I wish you all the best and should you require my services, I will give you my best. Live well. Jason A. McCann, CRNA

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
