My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a physical therapist for Kaiser Permanente. My main goal and focus is on the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunctions, spinal pain, orthopedic injuries, surgery rehab and general exercise. I decided to do this kind of work because I enjoy the challenge of assisting each and every patient to the best of my ability.

My Practice Philosophy

I believe it is important to get to know each patient and communicate effectively the reasoning behind physical therapy. My ultimate goal is to help patients prevent, maintain and learn how to care for themselves when injured. I believe that the more tools a patient has, the more effective they will be with their overall health.

My Credentials

B.S. Kinesiology California State University – Sacramento
M.S. Physical Therapy California State University – Sacramento

My Tenure With Kaiser Permanente

I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 2002. While working as a physical therapist assistant for 5 years, I worked full-time at the Rancho Cordova clinic as well as on-call for both Sacramento and Roseville hospitals. While attending Sacramento State University for the Master’s Program, I worked on-call assisting patients recovery in the inpatient hospital setting. I started working full-time as a physical therapist at our Rancho Cordova facility in May 2007.

I have really come to appreciate the way Kaiser Permanente functions as a large family. I am very happy to have found such a great place to work and I am rewarded each day because I am able to play a role in the overall recovery of a patient’s injury.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

I enjoy practicing at Kaiser Permanente because of the many benefits that entails being one of the best HMO’s in the business. Kaiser upholds the highest values for healthcare and it shows by having a helpful, attentive and informative staff. The Rehabilitation Services Department provides the best possible care for patients at Kaiser Permanente. With the help of Health-Connect, we have the ability to view up to date reports, digital images and much more.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association as well as a member of the Orthopedic section of the APTA. While working on my Master’s project at CSUS in 2006, the Sacramento Bee published an article in the newspaper on our research covering muscle activity while using a therapeutic exercise ball.

On a Personal Note

When I am not working at Kaiser Permanente, I am spending time with my wife and daughter as well as extended family. I also enjoy watching movies, camping, fishing, working out, playing racquetball and working on projects at home.
