Our Hospital Medicine Program

At Kaiser South San Francisco we have a Hospitalist program. This means that we have a group of physicians who are dedicated to taking care of patients who are in the hospital. We work closely with your personal care provider to make sure that your care is coordinated before, during and after your stay in our hospital.

We also work closely with the nurses and other members of our health care team. When you are discharged, we will notify your personal care provider and make sure that they have the information they need to care for you when you get home.

My Biography

Additional Languages: Spanish
Joined Kaiser Permanente: September, 1999

I believe that patients deserve to be treated with the same level of care I would expect for my family and friends. As a hospital-based specialist, I often meet patients in their most vulnerable state. I strive to connect with patients and their families and feel privileged to be entrusted with their care.

As Chief of the Hospital-Based Specialists, I enjoy facilitating discussions and positive interactions with colleagues from other specialties. In fact, that’s one of the best things about working at Kaiser Permanente; I have ready access to supportive and excellent physician colleagues and I can focus on patient care rather than paperwork.

I’ve lived in Jamaica, Saudi Arabia and Hawaii and I enjoy surfing when time and weather permits. My other hobbies include reading and spending time with my two children.

Our goal at Kaiser Permanente is to be your health plan of choice and deliver the quality medical care our members deserve. Thank you again for choosing Kaiser Permanente.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
