Although born in Kansas City, I grew up on the East Coast in New York and Connecticut. In the 1970s I followed the westward pull and attended Stanford University, receiving a BA degree in Human Biology in 1976. I traveled and taught in East Africa for several years after graduating, and then decided to pursue physical therapy as a career. I returned to Stanford University and earned a Master of Arts degree in Physical Therapy in 1984.

My first job was with the Palo Alto Veteran's Hospital, and then in 1985 I joined the Kaiser Physical Therapy team at Santa Clara and have been here ever since. In 1988 I became one of the Outpatient Clinical Supervisors, which involves participation in staff and program development as well as continued direct patient care. Over the years I have been with Kaiser I have developed my skills in manual therapy, and I now specialize in Lymphedema management and treating Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction. I am a member of the Oncology section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

When I am not being a Physical Therapist I spend my time gardening, making repeated visits to Home Depot and OSH, cleaning up after three cats, and studying Argentine Tango and Flamenco dancing. I am a board member of Arte Flamenco de San Jose.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
