My Qualifications

I received my undergraduate degree from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, OR. I went to medical school at UC Davis, and completed both my internship and residency at the UC Davis Medical Center. Prior to joining The Permanente Medical Group in 1998, I worked at the UC Davis Medical Center for one year In their general Pediatrics department.

I always knew I wanted to work in Pediatrics. Prior to attending medical school, I was a clinical nurse, then an assistant head nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at the UC Davis Medical Center for 8 years.

Currently, I am a member of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the California Medical Association.

My Healthcare Practice

I enjoy primary care pediatrics because it gives me a chance to promote preventative and pro-active medicine with the families in my practice. I like to keep my practice diversified, so I have added several areas of special interest into my work. Besides working in General Pediatrics at the Rancho Cordova office, I also work in the Pediatric Diabetes clinic at Morse Avenue. I am a member of a group working on the prevention of type 2 diabetes in children. (For more information on type 2 diabetes in children see Type 2 Diabetes Information.) I also work with the Pediatric Asthma Interest Group, a group dedicated to promoting well controlled and educated asthma patients. (For information on asthma see Asthma Information.)

I am very pro-immunizations. I believe keeping your child's immunizations up to date can be the most important thing you do for your child's health.

Please feel free to e-mail non-urgent questions or concerns to my e-mail address as above. It may take me several weeks to return your answers, so for any urgent needs, please use the call center.

Receiving Your Healthcare From Kaiser Permanente

One of the advantages of the Kaiser Health System is the team approach. Physicians, medical assistants, nurses, and support staff all work as a team to provide the best care for our patients. We are part of a larger, inter-related medical group, which allows us to easily consult with other physicians in our system when the need arises.

My Outside Interests

When I am not working I enjoy traveling, theater and I particpate in ballroom dancing. (See My ballroom dancing page.)
