My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am an emergency medicine doctor. That means I take care of acutely ill patients of all ages. This requires a breath of knowledge into all aspect of medicine. I love the challenge of staying up-to-date on the many facets of medicine we practice in the Emergency Department. I love the diversity of my patients and the problems they present and the fact that every day in the Emergency Department is a little bit different. There is no chance of falling into a boring routine here.

My Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy is to treat each one of my patients as I would treat one of my family members.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2010. I am glad to be practicing here because it is an organization that emphasizes total well-being and makes integrating different aspects of health care as seamless as possible for patients. Patient access to physicians and resources is second to none and as a Kaiser physician, I can make all my decisions about treatment without having to go through a hospital administrator.

Professional Interests & Affiliations

  • American College of Emergency Physicians
  • American Academy of Emergency Medicine

On a Personal Note. . .

I earned a BS in Biochemistry from UC Davis. I attended Harvard Medical School and did my Emergency Medicine residency in Tucson Arizona. I have loved living in these extremely diverse areas of the country but am very glad to be home in Northern California. Outside of work I enjoy cooking, photography and soccer.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
