Welcome to my virtual office on the World Wide Web!

As silly as the above statement sounds, there is some meaning to it, because as an anesthesiologist specializing in general anesthesia care I don’t have a physical office in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, my office is a place that is in the hidden heart of every hospital. It is a place where most people never get to venture in their lifetimes. It is a place that is sometimes filled with anxiety and overwhelmed with the unknown. The place I am talking about, of course, is the operating room. My chosen profession as an anesthesiologist is to guide you through this place, and along the way I hope to calm your fears, relieve your pain, and support you while you travel on the path to getting well again.

After completing my residency training at UCSF, I looked upon joining The Permanente Medical Group at Kaiser Permanente San Jose as a natural extension and obvious choice. There simply is no better place to surround yourself with experts in all fields and a genuinely caring attitude towards the career that we have all dedicated our lives to. This is the feeling that I got on my very first day “on the job.” And to this day I still believe that patients – People – can come to this office of mine and expect the very best of intentions and abilities from everyone around. I hope that I can make your visit to my office as comfortable and as comforting as possible.

My main medical interests revolve around providing excellent, safe, and personal anesthetic care to every patient in their pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative periods. This allows anxiety and pain to give way to a faster, more productive, and more satisfying recovery period.

Welcome to my office.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
