Welcome to My Home Page!

My colleagues and I designed My Doctor Online to make it easier for you to take care of your health care needs. We've included a variety of superior online programs and health information that we have evaluated or written ourselves. Providing you with only the highest quality materials demonstrates our commitment to giving you the best quality care.

Background

I grew up in a large, supportive family in Minnesota and moved to California in 1986 to train at one of the top residency programs in the country. I have been practicing emergency medicine in Fresno since 1986. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2012 and am excited about the opportunity to care for those patients who need expert care in the emergency setting. I am board certified in both emergency medicine and hospice and palliative medicine and also have a special interest in caring for geriatric patients.

Family and Friends

I am married to my beautiful wife, Janice, and we have three children and two step-children. We also have three dogs.

Hobbies and Interests My wife and I enjoy exercising, taking the dogs for walks, traveling, skiing, golfing, cooking, reading, and relaxing.

We enjoy activities with our grown children when they are not too busy with their own hectic lives. As a stress reliever I put together jigsaw puzzles. My largest is 5000 pieces.

In spite of a shared fear of heights, my wife and I recently parasailed in Hawaii and rode in a hot air balloon over Napa Valley.

Recent Adventures

My wife and I recently rescued a duckling that was trying to cross a busy street in front of the hospital, and found an animal shelter to care for it and later release it when grown. We frequently come across lost pets that we try to safely return to their home.

What I am reading and Browsing

I enjoy reading fiction novels and am currently reading the Outlander series. I also read many biographies.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
