My Biography

Kaiser Permanente is about helping people to live happier, healthier lives. As a general & thoracic surgeon at South San Francisco, I work with my patients to maximize their personal well-being so that they can live life to the fullest. Whether it is as a simple as fixing a person’s hernia so they can get back to their regular exercise routine, or curing a person of lung cancer, I work with many excellent doctors and nurses in striving to achieve the same vitally important goal.

One of the benefits of living in the Bay Area of California is meeting so many interesting people from all around the world. Working as a surgeon at Kaiser, I enjoy the daily personal interactions with my patients and the knowledge that I am able to make medical decisions without outside interference to provide the care that they deserve.

Listed below are some links to sites that may be of interest to patients. And to all patients, not just those with lung cancer: please stop smoking, for yourself and your loved ones.

As a surgeon, I take appointments by referral. If you do not already have a referral, I suggest you call our appointment/advice line at (650) 742-2100 to make an appointment with your personal physician. To make an appointment in our sub-specialty department, please call (650) 742-2167.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
