My Biography

It has always been a dream of mine to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine in a modernized clinical setting. It is a true privilege to assist patients in their recovery using medical modalities that have been in practice for thousands of years. I enjoy working closely with patients in their recovery process, getting to know them and share in their joys and challenges. My primary goal as an acupuncturist is not only to aid in alleviating symptoms, but in preventing reoccurrence as well. I find the complexity of the human body intriguing; no two patients are alike. In this sense, each condition requires a thorough examination to find the most effective treatment. I strive continually to be more effective with my clinical results.

At Kaiser Permanente I feel like a member of a team where providers have a common goal, which is the treatment and prevention of illness. The best aspects of Kaiser Permanente’s health care model are clinician accessibility, the incorporation of preventative care, and the fact that a practitioner can access a patient’s complete medical history via Health Connect, our electronic medical records system.

In recent years I have focused my intention on pain management. I am constantly researching various treatment options, currently focusing my personal study on how to locate the root cause of discomfort in a more efficient manner.

Healthy behaviors that I practice to “live well and thrive” include practicing martial arts, tai chi, qi qong, yoga, eating fruits and vegetables, drinking green tea, going to bed early, taking Chinese herbs, getting acupuncture and an occasional massage, and taking the stairs more often than the elevator. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, dining out, watching the latest DVD’s, and studying Chinese medicine.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
