I was born in the Phillipines and now reside in Pleasanton, CA. I live there with my wife, baby girl and baby boy. When I'm not taking care of patients at work, I spend most of my spare time enjoying my family. More recently our family has been participating in sports such as soccer, swimming, and skiing. I recently skied for the first time with my daughter all day long. In the past she had just taken lessons. I'm hoping that my son will be skiing with us next year.

To keep my practice sharp I stay active with the Samuel Merritt College for Nurse Anesthetists as an associate faculty member. Although I have several different roles at the college my favorite activity is participating at the simulation center. I help organize simulation based training for up and coming nurse anesthetist residents. By allowing the students more realistic "hands on" training they are better able to care for our patients in the real world.

In recent years I have gained a greater appreciation of my family, career and the freedoms we enjoy as United States citizens. I gained this appreciation during my deployment to Kosovo, in 2003, with the United States Army Reserves. I served with the soldiers of Task Force MedFalcon VIII in caring for multinational brigade east soldiers under Operation Enduring Freeom. In winter 2004 I spent several months at Lundstuhl Regional Medical Center caring for many soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Including soldiers injured during the November battle for Fallujah and the December dining room bombing in Mosul. I returned to Landstuhl during the winter of 2007 for a final tour of duty before leaving the Army. Although I am now home safe and sound, I continue to pray for the safe return of my fellow soldiers from Europe, the Middle East and anywhere harm may befall them.

I enjoy providing the highest level anesthesia care not only to these brave men and women, but to my patients at home in the Kaiser Permanente system. I look forward to providing you with personalized care and answering any questions you may have about anesthesia.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
