Welcome To My Home Page!

I am pleased to offer this web site as a means to provide helpful medical information for my patients, as well as an opportunity for you to learn more about me. I hope that through this medium I will be able to better serve you with the most current information, useful handouts, and helpful web links.

I am proud to be a member of such a quality department and medical group here at Kaiser Permanente, and I hope that we can always provide high quality of care and service to you.

My particular psychotherapeutic orientation is to view most human suffering as originating from a spiritual problem, that is, a problem with one's sense of meaning, value and purpose. I strongly believe that the resolution of this problem involves a process which must include the condition of one's body and the quality of one's relationship to the environment and to significant others.

My therapeutic practice attempts to integrate Asian/Buddhist psychology with the best of Western psychological methodologies. I also facilitate several groups at Kaiser:
a) mindfulness meditation and creative coping,
b) mid-life group process, and
c) an afternoon senior group.

The following outline is a brief synopsis about how I came to work with the staff here at Kaiser Permanente:

Professional School: State University of New York - Class of 1991, California Institute of Integral Studies - M.A. Comparative Philosophy and Ph.D. Buddhist Philosophy/Psychology
Board Certification: Licensed Clinical Social Workers – LCWS17828
Languages Spoken: English
With Kaiser Permanente Since: February 2002

Your comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
