About Me
I grew up in Lafayette, California, and have had the privilege of practicing at Kaiser Permanente since 2002. I’m a member of the American Board of Family Practice and the American Medical Association.
Ever since I was a child I have always wanted to be a doctor. I think it was the relationships you develop with other people, along with a sense of helping others that really attracted me. Working in hospitals since high school in both research and clinical care solidified that passion and gave me the drive to push through medical school. Some people wonder what I like about practicing medicine. I think the better question is what is there not to like about practicing medicine? Helping people not only in the long term, but often times instantly, cannot be surpassed. Most people are grateful and truly appreciate what is done for them.
During medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine in Bay Shore, New York, I chose a path in family practice and continued on to residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I really enjoy the aspect of taking care of the family as a whole. The process in which a single person’s illness dynamically affects the whole family circle is unbelievable. It is also an integral part of training in family practice. In addition, the ability to practice medicine in all facets, from delivering babies to reducing fractures, always keeps me on my toes and ready for any task.
In addition to working at Kaiser Permanente, I also enjoy anything outdoors. However, most days not at the hospital are spent at the golf course.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
