About Me

I was born in Venezuela, South America, but I am ethnically Chinese. My parents moved to Maryland in 1979, and that was where I grew up with my two brothers. Our parents have always instilled upon us the need to help others whenever we can. I believe that is why my brothers and I all ended up in the service fields.

I chose internal medicine as my specialty because of the diversity the field encompasses. I started out practicing with Kaiser Permanente in 1999 in the outpatient setting. Over the years, I decided to switch over completely to inpatient care, as a hospitalist. I believe I have found my niche. Treating very sick patients in the hospital is very fulfilling.

I believe keeping healthy is very important. I do what I preach. I exercise regularly---I enjoy the gym, biking, hiking, kayaking, etc. I watch my diet carefully.

I look forward to helping you get well and thrive.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
