Department Hours

As a team of Hospitalists, we run a 24/7 service and do see patients who show up in the Emergency Room requiring admission. Sometimes when necessary, we also admit directly from the clinic when your primary care doctor requests our help to admit and treat you in the Hospital.

I am proud to be a member of such an outstanding department and the medical group here at Kaiser Permanente Manteca, Modesto and Turlock. I hope that we can always provide the highest quality of care and service to you.

About Me

My name is Dr. Homeira Izadi and I am one of the pediatric hospitalists working at the Modesto Medical Center. Dr. Albert Schiwitzer was my role model, I read about his commitment to help people in Africa and I wanted to be just like him. With Dr. Schiwitzer as my inspiration, I decided to become a physician too. I received my medical degree from Oromieh University School of Medicine, Urmia, Iran. I finished my residency in pediatrics at Tehran University, the top medical school in Iran. After moving to the United States I had my second round in pediatrics and finished an internship at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Chicago, IL. I went on to complete my residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Austin, Austin, TX. Shortly thereafter, I worked as one of the attending physicians at Baylor College of Medicine section of Neonatology for a couple of years before moving back to California.

I like to be organized and found Kaiser Permanente to be one of the most organized health care institutions. There is a lot of support for the physicians and patients. I decided to work in the Central Valley because it is close to my home (Castro Valley). My medical interests include neonatology and cardiology.

I am a member of the Skeptic Society and love to practice critical thinking and humanism. I try hard to be skeptic on my approach and most of my readings are in this direction.

Being able to save someone’s life is very gratifying. There is nothing in the world more enjoyable than seeing patients smiling and feeling good after a rough night of being sick.

Family and Friends

I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. I have a pair of twins – one boy and one girl. They were born on New Year’s Day in 2002. It was snowing that night in Austin, TX! The most joyful time of my life is the time spent with my twins. My native language is Farsi and I am fluent in English.

Hobbies and Interests

When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, hiking and reading science books.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.
