My Specialty and Why I Chose It

Provide a description of your specialty and why you chose it: I am a Certified Nurse Midwife. I work in the Women's Heath Department. My primary job is to care for pregnant women and their families. I became a CNM after working as a labor and delivery nurse for 15 yrs.

My Practice Philosophy

As a midwife, I come to pregnancy as a normal and healthy experience in a families life. I am here to teach, encourage, support and help women to take better care of themselves during this magical time.

My Professional Education and Training

I was trained as a nurse at Bergen College in New Jersey. I worked at UCSF as an RN in labor and delivery for 15yrs. I then went to Nurse Midwifery School at UCSF.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I've been with Kaiser for a year now. I have been a CNM for 13 years, working in a private practice. I really enjoy working for Kaiser and look forward to a long career here.

Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente

Kaiser allows me the opportunity to care for women during their pregnancies, as well as deliver babies on labor and delivery. I like the access that women have to our department. We are on the cutting edge of technology as well as remember that birth is a natural event.

My Professional Interests and Affiliations

I am a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives. I am a member of the California Nurse Midwife Association. I am secretary of our chapter of the CNMA

On a Personal Note…

I am married and have 4 children. Three are in college and one still at home. I enjoy my work immensely but also enjoy time with my family. We like to camp, and visit family that are located around the county. My goal is to see Europe sometime in the next 5 years.

About my Home Page I appreciate you taking the time to read more about me. I hope I have the opportunity to meet you during your prenatal care or on Labor and Delivery. I work in both the Rancho Cordova and Davis Clinics. Please feel free to contact either one of these Women's Health clinics for an appointment with me.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
