About Me..

I went into medicine with the desire to work with people, helping to them to maintain their good health and assisting them in acute medical emergencies.

I began my career as an engineer prior to realizing the unique satisfaction of working with people in the medical environment. I got my Bachelor and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of California in San Diego. I worked briefly as a design engineer for a Company in Southern California, before Medical School at the University of California, Davis. I trained in Emergency Medicine at Highland General Hospital in Alameda County.

Emergency Medicine is my interest not only because of its unique challenge in life threatening situations, but it is a place where a physician can be of great benefit to people in discomfort and distress.

When I’m not practicing medicine, I enjoy photography, travel, and gardening.

My Philosophy of Care..

Health care is a group effort. It requires the interest and effort of both the patient and his or her doctor(s). Make sure to have regular visits with your primary care doctors, be compliant with treatments and plans, and know what is part of a good health regimen.

My Credentials

Medical school UC Davis School of Medicine, Davis, CA
Internship Highland General Hospital, Oakland, CA
Residency Highland General Hospital, Oakland, CA
Board certification Emergency Medicine, American Board of Emergency Medicine

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
