My Biography

I am very excited to join the Kaiser Permanente team in San Francisco. I have always admired Kaiser’s forward-thinking medical practices and believe the medical center is truly a caring community. Kaiser’s integrated system of medicine is very supportive of integral patient care. Our Health Education department is a phenomenal, terrific resource for patients and an example of that commitment to integration. My goal is to enrich the lives of others while working in a supportive environment.

It is highly gratifying, and an honor, to assist individuals in recovering from alcohol and drug dependency. For most people, this is a very difficult time in life, and I hope my involvement makes a difference. Since I am also interested in brain chemistry and brain function, working in Chemical Dependency Services supports my natural curiosity about the human brain. Other areas of special interest to me are stress-induced chronic illness, and the application of complementary medicine in healing mind and body.

My hobbies include philosophy and spirituality. I study many systems of spiritual inquiry, and I am interested in sustainable living and permaculture practices in the garden. To help myself THRIVE, I practice yoga for health and well-being, take long walks on the beach with family members, exercise, and eat plenty of vegetables. I also am an avid gardener. I look forward to working with you at San Francisco Medical Center.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
