My Biography
I first learned about the field of genetic counseling in my high school biology class and was immediately intrigued by the practical application of science combined with psychosocial support. I went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in biological sciences from the University of California at Santa Barbara and then completed a Master of Science degree in Genetic Counseling at the University of California at Berkeley.
In 2000, I happily accepted a position with the Genetics department at Kaiser in San Francisco. During my six years in San Francisco, I provided general genetic counseling services in addition to coordinating our Santa Rosa satellite clinic and serving on the hospital ethics committee. In 2006, I transferred to the Kaiser facility in Oakland, where I continue to provide prenatal, pediatric, and adult genetic services to our members. I am certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling, and I am a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors.
I strive to provide our Kaiser members with competent and compassionate care, and I hope all my patients feel their questions and concerns are addressed in a sensitive and supportive manner. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, yoga, and exploring the beautiful Bay Area.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
