My Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCS23646). I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2001 with a Masters degree in Social Welfare. I graduated from Santa Clara University in 1999 with a MA in Psychology.

About Me

My name is Heidi Scharrenberg and I am the Early Start Specialist for Santa Clara Homestead Campus, as well as our satellite locations in Campbell and Mountain View. I see patients in all three locations.

Pregnancy and giving birth is the most amazing time in a women’s life and I appreciate the opportunity to offer support, information and education to women about many subjects including the effects of tobacco, alcohol and other substances during pregnancy. I am an advocate for women to receive comprehensive and consistent prenatal care. I truly enjoy working with pregnant women and feel fortunate to be part of this special time in their lives.

I’ve joined the Kaiser Permanente team this year (2011), and I love my new surroundings! Prior to working for Kaiser Permanente, I was a medical social worker in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford for the past nine years.

I enjoy travel, Bay Area sports, and spending time with my family and friends.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
