About Me

Thank you for visiting my home page. I hope you will find a wealth of information here to assist you in caring for injuries and be able to make more informed decisions about your health care needs. This is also an excellent opportunity to tell you a little about me and my thoughts on the practice of medicine.

I was born in central, coastal New Jersey and attended Manhattan College in New York City, where I obtained a degree in chemical engineering cum laude. My medical degree is from the University of Florence in Italy, where I also spent some time in the service of our country. I speak both Italian and German well.

My internship was completed in internal medicine at St. Francis / Helene Fuld Hospitals of Trenton, New Jersey, and my residency was completed at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania.

I moved to California in 1983 and was immediately drawn to Kaiser Permanente as a model system, and a significant improvement upon some of the health care delivery systems I had seen in Europe. I am proud to have been affiliated Kaiser Permanente since 1986, as an emergency department physician and in minor injury. In addition to caring for my patients, I am involved in the use of information technology to improve the delivery of health care.

My wife Michelle and I both work with Kaiser Permanente and our spare time is consumed with our four children, David, Cameron, Samantha, and Rachael. When we have a small amount of time left to ourselves, we bike, ski and travel.

Please feel free to explore the site and come to our clinic with any questions or suggestions for improvement you may have. I look forward to assisting you in our Minor Injury Center.

My Credentials

Medical school Facolta Di Medicina, Firenze, Italy
Internship St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton, NJ
Residency Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, PA

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
