How to Use My Home Page...

My Biography

I joined Kaiser Permanente San Francisco in 2007. I admire the ideals, message and aim of the THRIVE campaign and the Personal Health Coach Program is inline with the lifestyle I lead. I believe among Kaiser Permanente’s primary strengths is the organization’s emphasis on preventive and wellness services.

In the three and a half years I have worked as the Nutrition Health Coach in the Health Education Department, I have been delighted to connect with our members and help them make an impact on their nutrition, health and wellness. Whether it's helping members create a satisfying eating plan for weight loss or providing optimal nutrition plans for competitive and recreational athletes, I take pleasure in the process of supporting others to reach their goals. I engage my clients to learn how to eat mindfully by listening to their hunger and stopping when they are satisfied while taking a non-diet approach; empowering them to make long-lasting lifestyle changes.

In addition, I share my passion of eating and preparing local, seasonal foods by providing cooking demonstrations at the San Francisco medical center, at Kaiser Permanente’s weekly farmer’s market and Macy’s Cellar in Union Square. I have also appeared on KGO-TV’s View from the Bay; providing my expertise as a registered dietitian in preparing easy, seasonal recipes. My expertise in food, nutrition and wellness has also been shared with Bay Area residents at community health fairs and countless employees of Bay Area companies through worksite wellness programs.

In a part-time capacity, I also see patients for Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT); ranging from irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease to high cholesterol and diabetes. I enjoy working with different member’s needs in various medical clinics such as Young Mom’s, Pediatric Diabetes, Gestational Diabetes and Home Health.

My other interests in my non-work life include traveling, cooking, urban hiking, cycling, reading, yoga, gardening and enjoying time with friends and family. I thrive in a number of ways: biking to work, eating and walking at lunch with co-workers, eating homemade meals, getting at least seven hours of sleep per night and taking time to just “be.”
