Welcome to my home page.

I received a BA in Fine Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MA in Counseling Psychology from California State University at Hayward. Since 1987 I’ve been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) and have used my counseling and psychotherapy skills in a variety of different settings with diverse groups of people.

For eight years I was employed at Project Eden, a community agency in South Hayward, serving youth and families with substance abuse issues. While there I established education and support programs for Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA) and started a Parent Empowerment Program at a local high school. I also initiated the Alameda County Child Abuse Council’s Network for Clinical Training in Child Abuse and served two years as Chairperson of the Network. During this time I also started a private practice.

For over nine years, I then worked with the Native American community in the Bay Area, including six years as the Clinical Director of Friendship House, a co-ed residential program in San Francisco.

In 1996 I began working at the Kaiser Oakland Chemical Dependency Recovery Program (CDRP). For several years I served as the Director of the Family Program and currently I am the Day Treatment Coordinator. I am now in my 13th year here, and continue to enjoy my job each day. I love the diversity of our staff and patients and appreciate the hard work, dedication, humor and creativity that go into making the Oakland CDRP an excellent program for those in need of help and support with overcoming addiction.
