My Biography

I completed the Kaiser Permanente Clinical Orthopedic Residency and Fellowship program in 2005. It was a really positive learning and personal growth experience. I found the strong emphasis on prevention and Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to education and program development to be very impressive. The collaborative relationship between the physicians and therapists is one of the most compelling reasons that I came to the San Francisco Medical Center. The vast breadth of experience amongst therapists here, and the variety of classes and programs offered to support healthy living, are the two strongest drawing points to joining this group of therapists.

Having been a competitive runner, the field of orthopedics was a natural fit for me. My clinical background has been primarily in outpatient orthopedics, with an emphasis in manual therapy. While I have a natural affinity toward runners and particularly enjoy treating the spine and sports-related injuries, I enjoy the diversity and challenge of treating a variety of patient populations. My practice philosophy is to be a collaborative partner with my patients in the management of their physical health. I strive to listen actively to my patients’ needs and concerns, and work in partnership with them towards establishing a multifaceted physical therapy program that allows them to realize their personal goals and reach their maximal physical function.

I enjoy running, cross-country skiing, hiking, and sprint triathlons.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
