About Me
Born and raised in Berkeley, I have always loved the San Francisco Bay Area. Although I completed medical school, internship, and residency on the East Coast, I always intended to return to this area to live and practice orthopedics. The close proximity of Tahoe, Yosemite, and the Pacific ocean make it the perfect spot for me.
In my spare time I enjoy skiing, hiking, and fishing. Most recently, my family and I have completed our certification to scuba dive and that has become our newest adventure. At home, I plant a vegetable garden every year and enjoy using my fresh vegetables in some of my favorite recipes. Cooking has been a longtime hobby of mine clear back to my childhood years.
Included in my long term plan to reside in the Bay Area was my intention to work for Kaiser Permanente. I wanted to devote my time and energy to patient care and not to the business of running a private practice. What attracted me to the Kaiser Permanente was the autonomy granted to its physicians, allowing them to practice medicine without the burden of having to seek approval prior to ordering tests or offering services that are deemed necessary for good patient care. In addition, the camaraderie and integrated nature of the group allows each of us to seek opinions from other physicians without having to obtain pre-approval from a gatekeeper or third party.
I look forward to serving my new patients in the coming years and to seeing those with whom I have had an ongoing relationship over my more than 16 years here.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
