My Biography

A native of the Bay Area, I was happy to return to San Francisco Medical Center after 13 years in the Midwest and East Coast. I was already familiar with Kaiser Permanente San Francisco since I completed my medical internship here before moving to Pittsburgh to finish my residency.

Anesthesiology allows me to communicate effectively with my patients. When I meet patients before their surgery, I try to explain the anesthesia process concisely and in a way that it easy to understand. In addition to anesthesiology, I am interested in pain medication and pain management. Prior to medical school, I completed some pharmacology studies. Anesthesiology is a good combination of pharmacology and physiology.

At Kaiser Permanente San Francisco we see a variety of patients, from children to adults. It is an excellent professional opportunity for me to stay at the top of my field and try to meet and exceed the expectations of all our patients.

When I’m not at the hospital, I enjoy ballroom dancing with my wife and raising our two children.

Undergraduate Education: BA, University of California at Berkeley
Professional Affiliations: American Society of Anesthesiologists; Diplomate of the American Association of Pain Management; International Spinal Injection Society
Began Practice: 1998
Joined Kaiser Permanente: 2003

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
