My Qualifications

I graduated from Sonoma State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development. While attending school I volunteered at Planned Parenthood as a Pregnancy test and HIV test counselor.

I started my career with Kaiser Permanente in the Regional Health Education Department helping coordinate the Tobacco Dependence and HIV/STD Prevention programs. After having my daughter, my interests changed and I now help expecting parents learn how to prepare for their new babies.

What I Like Most About Kaiser Permanente

I love my job because I can help pass on information that can help people improve their lives in so many ways. The most rewarding part of my job is hearing about how the Health Education classes that people have taken have really helped them be healthier and happier!

In my role, I teach the Baby Care, Breastfeeding, Labor and Delivery Hospital Tour and an occasional Tobacco Dependence Workshop. I am also a Certified Lactation Counselor.

My Interests Outside of Work

At home, I enjoy playing games and singing songs with my daughter, reading, and cooking.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
