Practice Philosophy for CDRP:
As the clinical team of the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program, we strive to create a supportive atmosphere in which individuals can experience their full potential for recovery from substance-related problems. We offer a comprehensive program of group therapy, education, individual counseling, medical detoxification and psychiatric services in a compassionate and structured setting. We look forward to working with you, to help you change your life.
About Me:
I was born and raised in Abington, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. I graduated with a BS degree in Communications from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1970 and spent many years as a broadcast air personality, and free lance writer here in the SF bay area before deciding to become a therapist.
I obtained my MS degree in counseling from San Francisco State University in 1999 and have worked in the Chemical Dependency field since 1989. In 1991, I helped establish a non-profit group that provides recovery educational workshops and meetings for charitable groups and churches. I also worked for Goodwill Industries and the State of California as a vocational rehabilitation and chemical dependency counselor to those with disabilities prior to coming to CDRP.
I love to play music, run, bicycle, hike, camp out and perform other outdoor activities. I love baseball (national league please, no DH!), movies especially classic and independent films, and I am married to Pamela, who is a social worker.
