My Biography

I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente in order to work with people who need psychological help but couldn’t necessarily afford a private therapist. I also find working with groups challenging and very helpful. They are an effective and cost-effective way to provide psychotherapy. The ways in which providers are able to interact and exchange information makes it easier for us to provide solid, targeted, personalized care. In Kaiser’s comprehensive health care system, I can focus on my patients without worrying about promoting my business, recruiting patients, or insurance concerns.

I am excited when patients come into my office, motivated to make changes in their lives. Our Chemical Dependency department offers the services most patients need to incorporate those changes. We offer the benefits, education, and support members need to keep themselves healthy and positive. I am interested in personality disorders, addictions, and the treatment of trauma survivors. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of reading about attachment patterns and personality disorders. I exercise at least four times per week. I ride my bike to work often, practice aikido, and meditate regularly. During my leisure time I enjoy birdwatching. I love music, especially classical.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
