My Specialty and Why I Chose It

I am a certified physician assistant (PA) with postgraduate orthopedic training who began his career as a medic serving at the end of the Vietnam conflict. The challenge of medicine and my desire to serve attracted me to medicine. I elected to further pursue studies to enable a larger role in helping to meet the healthcare needs of my patients.

Education

Bachelor of Science University of Oklahoma
Master of Science University of Nebraska
Post Graduate Training David Grant Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base

My Practice Philosophy

I am convinced that medicine is a calling and the ability to practice it is a gift. I think of my patients as family members and treat them with the same care and respect we would give to our own family. My role is to also help share medical facts, knowledge and treatment options, and always help the patient to make healthcare choices right for him or her.

My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente

I have been a part of the Kaiser Permanente family since November 2007. I was attracted to Kaiser Permanente based on the opportunity to practice medicine, not business. We can focus on you and your medical needs. There is less intrusion into the process of deciding what course of treatment is right for you. I also appreciate the close availability of colleagues and really enjoy the cross-sharing of ideas and patient care experiences. The availability of the latest computerized technology really helps keep vital information ready at all times
