Welcome to My Home Page

My colleagues and I have developed web sites to make it easier for you to interact with me and for me to take care of many of your healthcare needs. I'm eager to work with you to make your experience at Kaiser Permanente a positive one.

My Background

I joined Kaiser in 2008 after working in an emergency department that operated in the traditional manner where waiting times of 4 hours just to be seen were the norm. I find the care that we provide at Kaiser Permanente is second to none.

At Kaiser Permanente physicians have the freedom to practice evidence-based medicine that provides patients with both fundamentally ethical and high quality care. We provide emergency care that is expedient, personal and compassionate. Kaiser Permanente has a well integrated network of physicians that allows close consultation with specialists and referrals from the emergency department when needed.

On a Personal Note. . .

I entered the medical field as a paramedic in 1980. During 12 of the 15 years while working as a paramedic, I would work 6 to 8 months of the year and during the other 4 to 6 months, travel internationally climbing mountains and riding my bicycle. At the age of 31 I returned to school and completed my undergraduate education at University of California, San Diego. I went on to attend medical school at St. Georges University School of Medicine. I completed residency at Wayne State University, Detroit Receiving Hospital in Detroit Michigan.

Be sure to visit the Kaiser Permanente Website for additional information regarding appointments, prescriptions, health education classes and other health-related topics. You can also click on my department link above to receive additional health information.

Disclaimer
If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
