About Me

I first started thinking about going into physical therapy my junior year of high school when I rehabilitated myself following a minor knee injury from soccer. I always enjoyed human anatomy and exercise/physical fitness, so I decided to major in Kinesiology, which fulfilled the prerequisites for physical therapy school. I attended Samuel Merritt College in Oakland where I received my doctorate in Physical Therapy.

I really enjoy the vast diversity of patients that we see in physical therapy. There are so many different specialties within this field to keep me challenged that it continues to facilitate my growth and development as a Physical Therapist. Besides this, I also enjoy educating patients on how to treat their problems so they may be able to prevent the same problem from occurring down the road.

The thing I like most about working for Kaiser Permanente is the collaborative effort that occurs between the different disciplines of medicine as well as the collaboration that occurs within the Physical Therapy Department itself to provide patients with the best possible care. It is a great learning environment for new therapists, like myself, to be able to draw on the vast amount of knowledge and experience that many of my colleagues have.

My philosophy is to treat the whole patient rather than one specific part of the body. I believe that it is my responsibility to educate my patients in the importance of exercise and living a healthy lifestyle in order to allow them to prevent future movement dysfunctions. I enjoy seeing patients with all sorts of orthopedic problems as well as patients who have difficulties with general functional activities. I am a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

When I am not at work I enjoy sports and being outdoors in general. I am an avid Giants fan and I enjoy soccer. I also like to spend time with my family and friends as well as walking the dog.

My Education and Credentials

Undergraduate Education BS in Kinesiology, California State University, Hayward
Graduate Education DPT from Samuel Merritt College, Oakland
