Welcome to My Internet Home Page

I am happy to be a part of the Kaiser Permanente Tracy Health Education Department and hope that the information you find here will help you to live well, be well, and Thrive!

Why did I want to be a Clinical Dietitian?

As a clinical dietitian in Health Education, it is my goal to inspire positive changes in diet and eating behaviors and hopefully help in the prevention and /or delay the progression of chronic diseases.

Why did I choose to practice in Kaiser Permanente?

I have been a member of Kaiser Permanente for 16 years before I started working here. I noted the vast improvements in the quality of care both in the cure and prevention of diseases that we, the members, continue to receive. I am proud that I can be a part of that delivery process.

My Education and Training

I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of the Philippines and worked in the same University Food Service in Philippines until I came to the United States in 1986. I received my Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition from the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT. I worked for the Veterans Administration Health Care System in Livermore prior to working in Kaiser Permanente Fremont Medical Center in 2002 as an in-patient dietitian. I transferred to Kaiser Permanente Tracy in 2005 when it first opened as an out-patient Registered Dietitian.

My Philosophy of Care

I strive to focus on the individual needs of members, to provide a continuum of care whether they have just been discharged from a hospital or just been diagnosed with a chronic disease. I encourage goals and suggest practical guidelines to promote health and prevent disease.

More About Me

I speak English and Tagalog (Filipino). I have three children, two sons and a daughter and a new grandson. I am active in the Ministry of Caring at our Catholic Church and I am also a member of an organization of Fil-American dietitians. I love to read, travel and watch plays and musicals.

Thank you for visiting my home page. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and I look forward to seeing you.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
