About My Practice

I am pleased to be a member of the primary care team of health professionals at Kaiser Permanente. My services are part of a unique and innovative approach to providing complete health care to Kaiser Permanente members. As a member of the primary care team, I am here to help ensure quality medical services. My appointments are 30 minutes or less and I work in close collaboration with your primary care provider. Working together, we will concentrate on practical and focused strategies for better managing your health.

What is Behavioral Medicine?

Behavioral medicine is the integration of behavioral and medical science in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of medical conditions. Daily behavior affects your health more than anything else does. Years of research and clinical practice have shown that behavioral changes can help people to function better physically and emotionally. Behavioral changes can help you improve your health, prevent illness, and reduce the symptoms of medical conditions. Behavioral interventions can also increase self-care skills, improve effectiveness of medical interventions, and increase your ability to cope with chronic conditions.

Benefits to you

  • Learn self-management and symptom control strategies. You can sleep better, have less pain, and remember to take your medications as prescribed.

  • Increase motivation to make lifestyle changes, learn how to start and stick to an exercise plan, manage your weight, or stop smoking.

  • Learn coping skills to manage chronic health conditions and enhance your quality of life.

  • Learn to be an active participant in your own health care and increase your satisfaction with the health care system. Ask your primary care provider about Behavioral Medicine Services.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
