My Practice Philosophy
I believe in providing anesthesia that optimizes safety with vigilance, effectiveness with evidence-based medicine, and comfort with thorough discussions with my patients, during what may be an uneasy time in their lives.
About Me
I was born in the Philippines and moved to California when I was 5 years old. Though I was raised in Riverside, at heart, I am a Northern Californian. I graduated from UC Davis with a BS in Biochemistry and earned my Medical Degree from UC Davis School of Medicine in 2005. My Anesthesia residency was completed at Loma Linda University in 2009, and I then completed my Cardiothoracic Anesthesia fellowship training at UC San Diego in 2010. I am board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the National Board of Echocardiography granted me testamur status.
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2011. I speak English and Tagalog. I am a member of the American Medical Association and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
My Interests
My professional interests include adult cardiac anesthesia, transesophageal echocardiography and regional anesthesia.
My wife and I enjoy spending time with our one-year old son as he finds new ways to keep us on our toes. We also have an older child, our four-year-old Pomeranian. My personal interests include tennis, snowboarding, and cycling.
Recent Adventures
I have trekked through Peru, Costa Rica, Argentina and New Zealand. My most exciting and favorite adventures have been hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and inner tubing down the glowworm caves in Waitomo. For my future adventures, I would like to attend all four tennis majors in the same year.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
