My Biography
I see both children and adults as a clinical geneticist at San Francisco Medical Center, and I also co-direct the TPMG Regional Genetics Laboratory at Kaiser Permanente San Jose. I also enjoy teaching and seeing patients in Genetics at UCSF, where I am clinical associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics.
Kaiser Permanente gives me the opportunity to combine my love for both clinical sciences. My special interests include Down Syndrome, skeletal dysplasias, dysmorphology, and molecular genetics. I look forward to coming to work because my patients give me great inspiration and strength, and I work with such well-rounded, knowledgeable colleagues and support staff. In addition, I think that Genetics is a wonderful area of medicine because of the fast-paced advances and many future applications. Practicing within the Kaiser Permanente system offers many advantages, especially because of our preventative approach and philosophy.
I have four young children. My oldest son is adopted from Korea. He is followed by my daughter and fraternal twin boys. I like to play my grand piano, cook international foods, downhill ski, and garden.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
