Welcome to My Home Page

On this site you will find answers to many of your questions about my clinical practice. Also included are several online features that will allow you to e-mail me, check your laboratory results and refill prescriptions. I hope you find its content informative and useful.

My Background

My undergraduate studies were at Carleton College where I earned a degree in Biology in 1999. After graduation, I moved to New York to work in an x-ray crystallography laboratory at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Staying in Manhattan, I studied medicine at New York University, earning my degree in 2005. I then moved back to the Midwest to do a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Minnesota and stayed for one more legendary Minnesota winter to do a Hand Surgery Fellowship at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul. Continuing my trek west I joined Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento/Roseville in 2011.

On a Personal Note. . .

My husband and I have a beautiful two year old little girl who is a complete joy. She is growing and changing so fast and we are having a lot of fun exploring her world with her. Our usual weekend plans involve outdoor activities - walks, bike rides, or going to the park or river. I also enjoy live music and I am always on the lookout for interesting local artists.

I joined a book club last year and had so much fun reading the variety of books selected by the group. On the web, I generally read local, national and international news.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
