Welcome to my homepage
Welcome and thank you for visiting me today. I entered the field of Spine Surgery to help assist patients who have disabling conditions of the back and neck, so that they may return to a more active, healthy life. I enjoy treating all conditions of the spine, with a focus on conservative/non-operative management whenever possible, while reserving surgery as a final measure after exhaustion of all conservative treatments. I support the integrated system at Kaiser, where we can find ways to work better to continually improve your overall health care experience. I am honored to be a part of this service and look forward to the opportunity to work with you to provide the best care possible.
My Background
I graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1999, as the class valedictorian, and the Michael E. DeBakey Scholar. I completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at UCLA Medical Center in 2004. I completed my training with a fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery of the Spine at one of the nation’s acclaimed fellowships at William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan in 2005. My hobbies include outdoor activities and spending time with my family and friends. After three years in private practice performing spinal surgery in Southern California, I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 2008.
My Interests
I enjoy outdoor activities and spending time w/family and friends
My Recommendations
My recommendation is to improve and maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle through exercise, education and emotional support. It’s an extension of your physician’s care, and it’s designed to provide ways to reduce your risk factors for heart disease, like smoking, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, and stress. Remember to keep up to date with regular physician visits and immunizations.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
