Welcome to My Home Page!
I am a licensed psychologist working in Kaiser Permanente’s Intensive Outpatient Program (I.O.P.), and I enjoy working with adults in crisis addressing their mental health issues. As a Kaiser Permanente mental health professional, I have the opportunity to be part of an integrated health care delivery system that can make a significant difference in people’s lives.
I work out of the Martinez and Walnut Creek Departments of Mental Health, and have worked for Kaiser in various capacities since 2004.
My approach to treatment is tailored to each patient’s individual needs. Highlighting a patient’s unique strengths is a core component, as is helping patients identify ways to get through a period of crisis and move forward with their lives. The services I offer as a member of the I.O.P. team include brief case management, group psychotherapy and education.
I studied clinical psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, and trained in various settings, including a middle school, an outpatient community clinic for adults, and a county clinic for children and adolescents. I served as a pre-doctoral intern and post-doctoral resident for Kaiser Antioch, working with adults, children and teens.
Born and raised mostly in California, I have always had an interest in other cultures and foreign languages. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I spent a year abroad studying at the Université de Talence in Bordeaux, France, while earning an undergraduate degree in international relations from the University of California at Davis. I later completed a two-year intensive Japanese language program at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. I lived in Japan for several years, worked in business both in Japan and in the U.S., and taught English as a second language.
In my free time, I like to spend time with family and friends. My hobbies include hiking, bicycling, camping and skiing. I also enjoy reading, and am in a book club.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
