About Me

I am a Pediatric Hospital-Based Physician which means that I work only in the hospital. I find this position extremely rewarding and challenging because it allows me to take care of babies and children with a diverse array of problems in a variety of settings. I divide my time primarily between the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). I also work as a transport physician, picking up sick children from other hospitals and bringing them to our facility for a higher level of care. What I enjoy above all else about my job is the opportunity to interact with children.

I was born at the Kaiser Oakland Medical Center, but spent my formative years in Orange County (before it was the OC). College brought me back to Northern California, completing my undergraduate studies at UC Davis. After a hiatus in the mountains of Lake Tahoe, I continued my education at Tel Aviv University School of Medicine in Israel. After medical school I completed a residency in pediatrics at the Kaiser Oakland Medical Center.

In addition to my passion for pediatrics and hospital-based medicine, I can be found chasing the latest snow storms throughout the mountains of North America. International travel, cooking, medical humanitarian missions and the LA Dodgers are some of my other passions.

My family, friends, colleagues, children, and supportive wife are what truly make me feel like blessed soul.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
