Welcome to my Home Page!

I was raised in a small town called Tulare, in the Central Valley of California. After high school, my first stop was at UCLA where I received my bachelors degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics as well as a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology. I've also spent time in the Washington DC area working for the Health Resources and Services Administration, and went to medical school at the University of Vermont, where my anatomy partner later became my wife. I returned to the Central Valley to train at Kern Medical Center, and have been working for Kaiser Permanente since 2008.

Visiting the emergency department is often unexpected and a stressful time in an individual's life. My goal as a physician is to provide outstanding care to each individual patient while at the same time providing comfort. My philosophy is that of communication. I believe it is important that I fully understand your concerns as the patient, that I communicate the goals of the visit, and that we both agree on a plan of care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, particularly with my newborn son and wonderful wife.

My Credentials

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
