Welcome to My Personal Home Page

Welcome to my rheumatology practice. I am dedicated to providing exceptional care. On my home page, you will find a wealth of information including links to the laboratory, pharmacy and radiology department. You will also find our online routine appointment booking and online prescription refill system to be very efficient. I have included great links to rheumatology associations and educational materials to help you understand more about your illness. Please feel free to contact me or my department by phone or secure online messaging.

I am available to consult and follow up with you regarding the full spectrum of rheumatology, including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Vasculitis, and others. Thanks to ongoing research, I am able to offer newer, effective treatments to you. My goal is to help restore and maintain disease control so you can focus on other aspects of your life.

While medicines and other treatments are important, I look forward to sharing healthy lifestyle tips with you as well! I have been both inspired and motivated by patients who continue to exercise daily. Exercise has truly helped them to keep moving and enhances their treatment. I hope that exercise is already an integral part of your life.

Sometimes, due to long term damage, joint replacement surgery is needed. We have an excellent orthopedic department who will discuss your options when needed. Additionally, I am pleased to feature animations that show you the general process of several joint surgeries, like arthoscopy, and knee replacement.

I joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2004. I was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine in Rheumatology at University of California, San Francisco until 2006. When I am away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy reading, traveling, Caribbean cooking, and exercise. I encourage you to "Keep Moving".

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
