Welcome to My Home Page!

I have created this web page to help introduce myself, give you information regarding the services the Neurointerventional Radiology team provides, and offer you internet links and information about neurovascular diseases and conditions.

I am a nurse practitioner, a registered nurse who holds an advanced degree and additional training in a specific specialty, who works with Dr. Amon Liu and Dr. Sean Cullen in the Interventional Neuroradiology (INR) Department. I help schedule and coordinate the INR procedures, order lab tests and necessary pre-procedure medications, complete the history and physical, and educate patients about the procedure.

I received my Bachelors and Masters of Science in Nursing from San Francisco State University. For about 5 years, I worked as a registered nurse in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit at UCSF Medical Center. As a second job, I also worked in the Intensive Care Unit in Kaiser South San Francisco before transferring to Redwood City to further pursue my career in the neurosciences.

Kaiser Permanente is not unfamiliar to me as I have been a member since childhood and have loved the quality care I’ve received. It’s been my fortune and pleasure to have joined the team at first as a registered nurse and now a nurse practitioner in June 2005, because the Kaiser family is dedicated to providing the best quality patient care using state of the art technology and equipment.

Our INR team provides care and treatment of (to name a few) strokes, brain aneurysms, ateriovenous malformations, cerebral and spinal vascular abnormalities, and vertebral body compression fractures. The endovascular, or within the blood vessel, treatment approach with microcatheters and x-ray imaging is in general less invasive, less painful, and consequently less time in the hospital for recovery compared to surgery. For more information, refer to the links on the left hand side. I hope you find the information helpful.

Outside of work, I enjoy a competitive game of volleyball, playing with my dog Obie, and watching movies or anything on the Food Network.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
