Welcome to My Home Page
I was born in Romania and obtained my M.D. degree from “Universitatea de Medicina si Pharmacie Carol Davila”, Bucharest, Romania in 1986. I spent my early career in Romania. I completed three years of clinical training after medical school, followed by one year of practice as a general practitioner in a rural clinic setting. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine there and practiced as a hospital based physician for two years before moving to the United States in 1995 to join my husband.
I completed additional training in United States. Between 1997 and 1999 I worked in research in the Cardiology Department at University of California, San Francisco. From 1999 to 2002 I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program and University of Arizona College of Medicine, Tucson, Arizona. I became Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2002. In 2002, I joined Kaiser Permanente in Redwood City as a Hospital Based Specialist. I chose to work in inpatient setting because I enjoy the technical aspects of medical care while also providing the support and communication that patients need. I am finding the very intense and personal experience of treating people who are acutely ill very gratifying. As a physician, I know also that pain has the greatest impact on patients, and I would value my ability to minimize pain as part of this profession.
I chose Kaiser Permanente because it has everything I envisioned being necessary for a successful career: (a) a well established Health Care Organization which allows me to concentrate on delivering the medical services rather than the administrative aspects of medical care; (b) a well organized network of hospitals, offices, diagnostic facilities, easily accessible specialists; (c) a philosophy of prevention (d) a comprehensive information technology system which makes it easy to access to medical records and tests results(e) a wonderful team environment with friendly physicians, nurses and other staff.
My schedule is different from your Primary Care Physician’s and it is not unusual for me to work during the weekend. If your illness requires hospitalization it is likely you will be taken care of by more than one physician during your hospital stay. We try to minimize any inconvenience caused by lack of continuity of care by effective communication. I am fortunate to work with excellent group of physicians. My colleagues are Dr. Bhandari, Dr. Sainnath, Dr. Kreitzer, Dr. Clavecilla, Dr. Huynh, Dr. Iancu, Dr. Kapadia, Dr. Lau, Dr. Reed, Dr. Szeto, Dr. Tang, Dr. Vallecillo, and Dr. Yuen. You can learn more about us by visiting our websites.
I am married and I enjoy spending valuable time with my family. My hobbies include listening to classical music, traveling, and cooking. Besides English, I also speak Romanian, and basic French
I look forward to serving you who, like me, share a love for the Bay Area, believe in this Health organization and maybe share some common interests in music, traveling, cooking.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
