I am the lead physician at the Vacaville Minor Injury Center. I really enjoy helping people in this drop-in setting, where we can usually get you fixed up quickly and on your way again, and we are here 365 days per year to serve your acute medical needs.

I was born and raised in Minnesota. I was always intrigued by how wondrously we are made, and I decided to become a physician to help people live maximally. After graduating from the University of Minnesota Medical School, I took a three-year residency in family medicine. I have been certified and recertified by the American Board of Family Medicine. I joined the USAF where I served for 25 years, including some great places such as Italy and Germany, before retiring in 2000. I joined Kaiser Permanente the next year, and work in Minor Injury in Vallejo and Vacaville. I especially like that Kaiser Permanente is dedicated to prevention ("THRIVE"), and lets doctors do what is best for their patients.

I have lived in California since 1992. I am married and have two grown sons. I enjoy fishing and gardening, and eating the bountiful harvest from my fruit trees and vegetables.

Please note that as we progress toward a Kaiser Permanente hospital in Vacaville in 2008, we anticipate increasing our hours and services. We are not offering appointments currently in the Minor Injury Center, but generally there is only a short wait. The busiest times on weekends are when we open at 1 PM; on weekdays it is very busy starting at 5 PM. We coordinate what we do with your primary care physician and other Kaiser Permanente specialists to help ensure your speedy recovery.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
