My Biography

I chose to work at Kaiser Permanente because I felt the organization emphasized prevention and education of its members. At the time of my hire, SF Kaiser Permanente employed a large number of nurse practitioners and I sought a large peer group and a center that supported the NP practice. I liked the idea of a nonprofit managed-care group delivering health care.

I enjoy the socioeconomic and ethnic diversity of staff and patients, as well as the collaboration among different health care providers, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and social workers. Kaiser’s health care model emphasizes the development and support of healthy living programs. Although I bring a broad range of experiences to my role at Kaiser, I maintain particular interests in the field of gerontology and the frail elderly.

I THRIVE through regular exercise, especially running in Golden Gate Park and on Ocean Beach. I eat a heart-healthy diet. My hobbies include reading, listening to jazz, and socializing with friends. I look forward to welcoming you to San Francisco Medical Center.

An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
