My clinical interests are primarily the evaluation and care of all spinal disorders. I enjoy treating all patients with spinal deformity. I have a special curiosity for tumors that either start in or travel to the skeletal spine. In keeping with my academic background as an assistant professor at UC Davis School of Medicine, I am exploring clinical outcomes and new, minimally invasive technical advances in surgery of the spine. I have authored several publications and have presented lectures at both national and international spine conferences.

As a member of the Scoliosis Research Society, my quest for knowledge of spinal disorders continues as the state of the art evolves.

Now to tell you a little about my history and where I have been:

After completing my residency in orthopaedic surgery at UC Davis, I returned to the USAF as the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C. The next assignment in the Air Force landed me in Korea at Osan Air Base as Chief of Surgery. From there, I leaped out of the Air Force to UC Davis as a faculty member in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, addressing general orthopaedic problems. Shortly thereafter, I joined Kaiser to devote all my time to surgery of the spine.
