About Me
I grew up in San Francisco, California and have had the experience of receiving health care from Kaiser Permanente for both my family and myself since childhood. I have come to know Kaiser Permanente first as a patient and now as a physician. After I completed medical school, I was fortunate enough to complete my internship and residency training at Kaiser Permanente, Oakland. I started my internal medicine practice at Kaiser Permanente, Pleasanton, and then moved to Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Hospital Based Specialty.
My family and I then moved to Oregon where I had a private practice but, I soon discovered I spent less time with patient care and more time with business and administrative duties. After a couple of years, I returned to Kaiser Permanente, Walnut Creek, realizing that my "perfect job" is providing patient care and the Kaiser Permanente system allows me to do so. Specifically, I practice hospital based medicine where I take care of acute and critically ill patients whom I find challenging and fulfilling. Often, I am involved with life and death situations with patients and their families. And it is during these times I feel most fortunate that I can focus all of my attention in helping my patients. Our system at Kaiser Permanente has helped take the burdens of the health care system from me so that I can concentrate on practicing medicine at my best.
When I am not working, I enjoy my time with my husband, my two children, and our dog. We love the outdoors, camping, traveling, and eating!
My family and I continue to receive our medical care at Kaiser Permanente. And I, along with my husband who is also a physician at Kaiser Permanente, continue to practice medicine here.

If you think you have a MEDICAL OR PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to the nearest hospital. DO NOT attempt to access emergency care through this web site. An emergency medical condition is a medical or psychiatric condition that manifests itself by acute symptoms of sufficient severity (including severe pain) such that you could reasonably expect the absence of immediate medical attention to result in any of the following: serious jeopardy to your health, serious impairment to your bodily functions, or serious dysfunction of any bodily organ or part. An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
