Welcome to My Home Page!
I was licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in 1998. I completed several years of internships, primarily in Child/Family work, in the course of obtaining my doctorate. I worked for Alameda County for the first two years subsequent to licensure, and came to Kaiser Permanente in 2000. I have a natural curiosity about people and their lives, dating back to my own adolescence. Pursuing a career in psychology was a way of combining something that interests me with a career I can take pride in. I appreciate being allowed into people's lives, to collaborate with them in trying to find creative and supportive ways to address a problem. Kaiser Permanente takes a team approach, where I can seek consultation if needed, easily refer to other providers as needed, and work in a supportive atmosphere with other clinicians and staff, who share my goals and professional interests. My philosophy is to be in collaboration with a family - to work together to find creative ways to deal with a given problem. I hope to combine my professional strengths and knowledge, with the knowledge my patients bring of themselves or their children, in hopes of coming to new ideas to alleviate at problem.
I received a B.A. in English from UCLA in 1989. I received an M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from CSPP, in 1996. My internships in the course of my doctorate training were primarily child/family focused, including pre-doctoral internships at California Pacific Medical Center and Sunset Community Mental Health. I did my post-doctoral fellowship at a community based program, Xanthos, that specialized in family therapy. The first two years of being licensed, I worked as a Psychologist and unit coordinator at an inpatient county psychiatric hospital. This was a detour from my work with children and adolescents, but gave me invaluable experience working in a hospital setting and with people with acute mental illness. I am currently licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in California, PSY 15504. Coming to Kaiser in 2000 was an opportunity to focus where I am most interested: children, adolescents, and families in an environment that affords a team and multi-disciplinary approach.

An emergency medical condition is also "active labor," which means a labor when there is inadequate time for safe transfer to a Plan hospital (or designated hospital) before delivery or if a transfer poses a threat to the health of the member or unborn child.
